After becoming a mother and taking courageous steps toward healing and stability, Cassidy is continuing to build the future she once dreamed might not be possible. Now, she is pursuing a master’s degree in Cybersecurity, a significant investment in her education, career, and long-term independence.
Recently, she reached an important milestone by passing the CompTIA PenTest+ exam, a professional cybersecurity certification focused on practical skills used to identify and address security vulnerabilities. As part of her advanced coursework and career preparation, passing this exam brings Cassidy one step closer to the professional opportunities she is working toward in the cybersecurity field.
Preparing for the exam required focus, perseverance, and countless hours of study. This wasn’t simply an exam result for Cassidy. It was evidence of what happens when courage meets opportunity and a survivor has a community willing to walk alongside her. Her case manager and mentors have encouraged her through the challenges of her coursework, offering the steady relational support that reminds her she doesn’t have to navigate this journey alone.
Her success was also carried in prayer. Harbour Hope’s Prayer Team has been faithfully lifting Cassidy up, praying for wisdom, perseverance, and success as she works toward her degree. Behind this milestone is a community of people who have chosen to believe in her future and faithfully cheer her on.
Cassidy shares, “Prayers have been such an encouragement. It does something amazing in terms of supporting resilience to know you’re not fighting darkness of fears, shame, trauma alone—it’s definitely helped my little light from completely going out.”
There is something powerful about seeing Cassidy’s story continue to evolve. Not long ago, she was navigating a season marked by shame and disconnection. Today, she is raising a family, pursuing an advanced degree, and working toward a career in Cybersecurity.
