Volunteers are an essential part of Harbour Hope’s mission, allowing spaces to be created where hope, healing, and restoration can flourish.
Their impact can be seen in both big and small moments—through practical service, thoughtful generosity, and meaningful relationships that remind survivors and families they are not walking alone. Volunteers help meet tangible needs while also creating a sense of belonging, encouragement, and stability for those navigating difficult seasons.
On Saturday, May 2, an incredible team from Mosaic Church came alongside one of the families we serve, offering hands-on support through home repairs, yard work, and practical care. Their work helped make the home safer, more functional, and more welcoming. But their impact extended far beyond physical improvements. By caring for this family’s environment, they helped create greater stability, dignity, and comfort during an important season of healing and rebuilding.
In another meaningful act of service, our volunteer Renee and her small group thoughtfully created Mother’s Day baskets for the clients we serve. These baskets were more than gifts—they were reminders to each mother that she is seen, valued, and deeply cared for. Simple yet intentional acts like these help foster connection, encouragement, and dignity for survivors and families rebuilding their lives.
And some of the deepest transformation happens through long-term, relationship-centered care.
One of our mentor teams recently shared, “Mentoring has been such a sweet experience. I’m learning as much as my mentee. It’s challenged me in the best way possible, and I’m excited to see what my mentee goes on to do in the future.”
This is the beauty of mentorship at Harbour Hope. It is not transactional—it is relational. It is the consistent, compassionate presence of someone willing to show up, listen well, and walk alongside a survivor as trust is rebuilt and healing takes root. Through these relationships, survivors are reminded that healing does not have to happen alone.
Whether through home projects, thoughtful gifts, prayer, mentorship, or practical support, our volunteers help create a haven for healing, anchored in hope.
We are so grateful for every person who gives their time, energy, and heart to this mission. Because of our volunteers, survivors and families experience more than support—they experience community, care, and the reminder that lasting healing is possible.
