After serving four years in prison, Amy left incarceration only to find herself in another painful situation—an abusive relationship. For a long time, addiction kept her from being the mother she wanted to be, and she carried the weight of lost years with her children.
But because of Harbour Hope, and because of champions like you, her story is being rewritten.
Since joining our program, Amy has found the courage to leave abuse behind and embrace a healthier, stable environment. With your support, she has:
- Remained sober
- Earned her driver’s license
- Begun reconnecting with her children
- Started working toward her GED
- Received consistent mentorship and tutoring that are transforming her confidence and outlook on life
What has meant the most to Amy is knowing she isn’t walking this journey alone. She shared:
“No matter what comes up, I feel safe being able to call somebody that actually cares about me. Even if I mess up, somebody always has my back.”
Today, Amy says she is grateful for the little things that once felt out of reach—like being present in her children’s lives.
“Now I’m stable and get to be in their lives. I get to show up for them. I’m blessed for all the little things and have to remember to stay grateful because I have them to keep me focused and going in the right direction.”
Thanks to your advocacy, generosity, and prayers, Amy has been given the chance to start again. Each gift of time, resources, or encouragement is part of loosening the chains of injustice and bringing survivors one step closer to freedom and hope.
