40 Days of Prayer and Fasting

Over the past several months, our ministry has faced challenges, and those we serve have carried heavy burdens. In this moment, we sense the Lord calling us to lean into Him with greater dependence, trusting that true breakthrough comes only through His power. Scripture reminds us in Matthew 17:21: “But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting” (ESV).

From August 27th to October 7th, we are humbling ourselves before the Lord in 40 days of focused prayer and fasting. Each phase will lift up a different area of need:

Days 1-10 Pray for what the Lord wants for Harbour Hope

For Humility“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” – Micah 6:8 (ESV)

For Vision“Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law.” – Proverbs 29:18 (ESV)

For a Spirit of Obedience“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” – James 1:22 (ESV)

Mission and Vision“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” – Ephesians 2:10 (ESV)

For Resources“And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:19 (ESV)

Days 11-20 Pray for Harbour Hope Champions-volunteers, donors, staff, and board members – This first period is dedicated to the people who are the hands and heart of Harbour Hope. They are the ones who put the mission into action.

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up” – Galatians 6:9 (ESV)

“The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.” – Isaiah 58:11 (NIV)

“Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in abundance of counselors there is safety.” – Proverbs 11:14 (ESV)

Day 21-30 Pray for: This is a time for heartfelt prayer and empathy for the individuals Harbour Hope is dedicated to serving.

For Healing and Restoration“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” – Psalm 147:3 (ESV)

For Courage and Strength“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13 (ESV)

For a Future of Hope“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV)

Days 31-40 Pray for: Community Partners“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!” – Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (ESV)

Recruitment and Specific Skills“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” – Colossians 3:17 (ESV)

For Impact“Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16 (ESV)

We invite you to join us—whether through fasting in a way that is meaningful for you, or simply by lifting up the daily prayer points. Your prayers matter, and together we believe God will move in powerful ways, bringing freedom, healing, and transformation.

We are deeply thankful for those who already give so faithfully of their time, talent, and treasure. If you have not yet given, would you prayerfully consider partnering with us in this season? Your support is urgently needed to help bring hope and healing to survivors of human trafficking.
