Emily’s Journey: From Trauma to Triumph

When Emily came to Harbour Hope at just 19 years old, she had already faced more than most of us can imagine. Removed from her home due to her mother’s addiction, she entered foster care, only to be expelled at 17—and eventually trafficked.

When she arrived at our doors, Emily was hesitant to trust, having been failed by systems that should have protected her. But through your support, something powerful began to happen: healing, hope, and restoration.

Emily was able to access safe housing through a trusted partner and begin trauma-informed counseling tailored to her experience. She joined our Mentorship Program, receiving consistent care and guidance.
Her basic needs—food, clothing, hygiene—were met and Emily was able to pay off debt, removing a major obstacle to stability.
She enrolled in educational programs to pursue her goals and received a donated vehicle, giving her the freedom to get to work and therapy.

Emily’s progress has even inspired her sister, who is now enrolled in our Survivor Care and Mentorship Program as well.

Mentorship is often the turning point in a survivor’s journey, offering consistent support in the face of deep trauma.

Thank you for believing in survivors—and being part of stories like Emily’s.
