We’re excited to share some milestones in the lives of several survivors. From answered prayers to meaningful moments of growth, these stories highlight their resilience and the progress they’ve made on their journey of healing and restoration. We’re grateful to celebrate these victories with them and to see how God continues to work in their lives.
Recently, KW welcomed her new baby, our team stepped in with more frequent staffings to ensure she felt supported during this significant life transition.
At HHI, we believe in being a ministry of presence, walking alongside our clients through every step of their journey. For K.W., that meant providing not only tangible support but also the emotional encouragement she needed as she navigates the challenges of motherhood.
“Thank you so much for your visit. It’s so nice to have my needs met, but I really needed the emotional support today. You’re awesome! … This has been really hard on me, but more so since I was pregnant and I have a baby now. I feel at times overwhelmed by the situation, so I really appreciate you recognizing that and praying for me.” KW
This month, we also had the privilege of celebrating G.W.’s birthday—a beautiful milestone in her journey of restoration. She shared her excitement about spending the day with her mentors but admitted feeling a bit nervous about what to expect. However, the day turned into a heartfelt celebration of her courage and growth, filled with love, laughter, and encouragement. It was a reminder of the incredible community surrounding her and of God’s unfailing love that makes each step forward a reason to rejoice.
“I had a great day. I have never had a birthday like this before. It was so fun… We went to Olive Garden. It was SO fun. They even got me a present. It’s a beautiful day journal and they suggested I use it as a gratitude journal” – G.W.
She was delighted to have dinner out in a restaurant. We got her a piece of cake for dessert and the staff sang to her. She really enjoyed it. We gave her a card, a balloon, a CD of affirmations and a journal that she can write in. – Mentor SB

Happy Birthday, G.W.! We are so proud of you!
We are overjoyed to share how the Lord has answered prayers for K.B. and her family! After much prayer and anticipation, K.B.’s mediation date went well, and she was able to reach an agreement with her soon-to-be ex-husband regarding their children. This resolution allows K.B. the opportunity to work full-time and serve in a ministry at the church, a calling she embraced in faith, trusting God to make a way.
Starting next month, she will begin receiving child support, including retroactive payments for the months previously unpaid. Additionally, the agreement ensures no corporal punishment for the children, providing them with a safer and more nurturing environment.
We rejoice in God’s provision, protection and peace.
